Private Applicator Training (PAT)

Montana is divided into 5 PAT regions with one of the regions reaching their recertification year annually. Private applicators need to accrue 6 credits within their respective recertification cycle. Applicators initially certified after June 30th within the 3rd year of their certification cycle will be pro-rated 3 private applicator recertification credits. Furthermore, if an applicator is initially certified in the last 12 months of their certification cycle they will be awarded 6 recertification credits and grandfathered into the next cycle without the need to accumulate any recertification credits. Credits DO NOT carry over from one cycle to the next.
