Copy

You can use many methods for copying (and moving) files. In the Source Windows Explorer screen, right click on the file and choose copy (or cut if you want to get rid of the file in the Source). Then move your cursor over to the destination Windows Explorer, right click and then choose paste.
  • Click and drag from the Source to the Destination.
  • Use Cut, Copy and Paste in the Edit menu
  • Use Control C or Control X to copy or cut the file in the Source and then Control V to paste it in the Destination

Compact

MS Access 97-03 MS Access 07

Send

1. Compact your Access database.
2. Close the database and open your email program.
3. Attach the compacted database as you would any other attachment

Receive

When PERKS is sent as an e-mail attachment, a server may "see" it as an executable document (a possible virus) and then the server changes the file's extension. For example, a Word document an Access file extension is .mdb (MS Access 97-03) or .accdb (MS Access 07).

So when server sees the file, XXX.mdb (.accdb), it will strip the file of its extension before it is sent as an attachment.  The file may arrive as XXX23456-mdb. Note it is a -mdb and not a .mdb. Access will not be able to open this program.

This problem is easily solved. Simply save the attachment to a location of your choice and change the file name so that it has .mdb.
