Update to PERKS Version 6
Save a back-up copy of your old database before updating to the new version.
MS Access 97-03
1. Download PERKS version 6 for MS Access 97-03. Save the database to a directory on your hard drive
2. In your old database open the Applicator, Credits, and Program tables in the Database Access Window under Objects / Tables.
3. For each table, export the content:
- Open the File menu
- Click on Export
- In the pop-up dialog box select your version of Excel and name the file the same as the table names (Applicator, Credits, or Program)
- Select a directory on your hard drive to save the exported file
- Click Export
4. Open PERKSv6.mdb that you downloaded in Step 1.
5. For each table, import the content you just exported:
- Open the File menu
- Click on Get External Data > Import !Import the Credits.xls file last!
- Follow the prompts: select Show worksheets, click Next, select First Row Contains Column Headings, click Next, select In an existing table (choose the Applicator table for the applicator.xls file, Credits table for the credits.xls file, and the Program table for program.xls file), click Next, and finally click Finish.
6. After the import process open the Applicator, Credits, and Program tables in version 6 to make sure the data was successfully imported.
MS Access 07
1. Download PERKS version 6 for MS Access 07. Save the database to a trusted location on your hard drive.

2. In your old database open the Applicator, Credit, and Program tables found in the left navigation window under the Tables section.
3. For each table, export the content:
- Click on External Data tab
- Go to the Export section and click on Excel
- Select a directory on your hard drive to save the exported file
- Select your version of Excel and name the file the same as the table names (Applicator, Credits, or Program)
- Click OK

4. Open PERKSv6.accdb that you downloaded into your trusted location.
5. For each table, import the content you just exported:
- Click on External Data tab
- Go to the Import section and click on Excel !Import the Credits.xlsx file last!
- Select the directory on your hard drive you saved the exported file
- Select the Append a copy of the record to the table: and select the Applicator table for the applicator.xls file, Credits table for the credits.xls file, and the Program table for program.xls file you recently exported
- Follow the prompts: select Show worksheets, click Next, click Next, and finally click Finish.
- Click OK

6. After the import process open the Applicator, Credits, and Program tables in version 6 to make sure the data was successfully imported.
